Batik Tour

February

Tour of a Private Batik Collection

Saturday, February 29, 2020, 10 am Sonoma, California

Fee: $25. The tour is open to TAC members plus one guest.

Pre-registration is required. Download registration form. Deadline to register is Tuesday, Feb. 18.

Please note: There is a waiting list for this event.

Tour participants will meet at a private home in Sonoma to view and discuss a fabulous collection of Batik textiles. Batik is an age-old technique for applying color and design to cloth. The art of batik reached its remarkable apotheosis on the Island of Java in the last half of the 19th and early 20th century. On this tour we will see some of the finest examples of this work.

If you are interested in car-pooling with other tour participants, please check the box on the registration form. TAC does not guarantee that we can work out car-pooling, but we will put you in touch with others willing to car-pool. Also, those wishing to stay in Sonoma for a no-host lunch should indicate so on the registration form.

Please note, TAC’s exciting event opportunities are a benefit of your current membership in the Textile Arts Guild. As a member, you are welcome to host one guest who need not be a TAC member, but they will of course be responsible for their own workshop fee. To become a member, or renew a lapsed membership, please visit our website at www.textileartsguild.org/join-tac/. Our website is also where you can keep track of all of our upcoming events and tours as well as a full list of membership levels and benefits.

Please sign and send back the registration form along with your payment to reserve your place to this event. Remember, space is limited and tours tend to fill up quickly with your fellow textile enthusiasts! Your space is not guaranteed until your payment is received.

Pre-registration is required. To reserve your place, or for additional information, please download and return the registration form.

Send registration and payment to: Textile Arts Council de Young Museum 50 Hagiwara Tea Garden Drive San Francisco, CA 94118
