Lucia Matzger’s Studio Tour
with Lucia Matzger, Fiber Artist
December 2nd, 2017, 10:30am – 12:30pm
Lucia’s home studio
Admission: $25.00. This event is only open to current TAC members. As a member, you are welcome to host one guest who need not be a TAC member.
Fiber Artist Lucia Matzger’s home studio tour in Berkeley will include a demonstration of the many steps involved in creating her three dimensional and kimono-style art. We will also be invited to help generate more used filters (by drinking a cup of coffee or tea)! Lucia is inspired by the arbitrary patterns of coffee stains juxtaposed with geometric shapes and folds of recycled coffee filters. She transitions these everyday objects into amazing one of a kind textural art pieces, each as unique as the coffee menu at your favorite café.
We will plan an optional no host lunch at a local Japanese restaurant. Members may want to extend the conversation on coffee and kimonos. We’ll plan to walk to the restaurant after the tour.
